208th Merseyside Derby.

Howard, Hibbert (Saha 63), Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Arteta,Neville, Fellaini, Osman, Cahill, Yakubu.

After going out very early in the Carling Cup the blues had all eyes on the derby and giving 101% but luck just didnt go there way.Postion was even enough in the first half with both sides not willing to do much attacking.Whatever words of wisdom the Spainish Manager gave The Reds at half time really turned out to be the turning point in this game as Everton were run ragged in the second half.

It turned out to be the Spainsh man day as he grabbed both goals for Liverpool in the second half of the local derby.Torres first goal came in the 58min when Robbie keane wipped in a corss which was let run by Dirk Kuyt and finished from 12yards by Torres. This hit Everton hard and from the minute that ball hit the back the net the Everton players hearts had dropped, and it as to get worse.

Torres again 3mins later grabbed his second of the game and that was it Everton had stumbled an fallen under the constint pressure by Liverpool`s front man.Things only went from bad to worse for the Toffees as Eveton Midfielder Tim Cahill was showen a red card for a tackle on the Livepool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
